SHS School Placement Exercise After 2025 BECE to Commence on September 17

The Ghana Education Service will begin the school placement exercise for 2025 will commence on Wednesday, September 17, following the release of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results.

At a press briefing on August 27, the Director-General of the service, Professor Ernest Kofi Davis, also noted that senior high school first years will report between October 18 and October 20.

Davis said the placement exercise had been designed to minimise errors and enhance transparency.

A review window from September 1 to September 8 has been introduced to enable candidates to verify their details on the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) portal.

“To reduce errors associated with school placement, candidates will have the opportunity to review the entries they have made; gender, school code, programme code online at www.csses.gov.gh."

The Ghana Education Service released 2025/2026 academic calendar by the Ghana Education Service on August 23.

YEN.com.gh reported that the 2025 BECE results were released by the governing examination council on August 23.

Over 600,000 candidates from 20,395 schools wrote the examination.

The entire results of 177 candidates were cancelled. The subject results of 718 candidates were cancelled, while the entire results of 93 candidates were withheld, and 1,240 candidates had their subject results withheld.
