Big Akwes' wife Freda, has opened up about how the renowned Ghanaian comedian tricked her into marriage with a fake and cheap wedding ring.

In a video published on August 24, 2025, Big Akwes' ex-wife used her disappointing situation to advise other women.
"My prayer is that no man should propose to you with this useless ring," Freda said as she showcased the said ring," Freda said.
In describing the ring Big Akwes gave her in 2023 when they tied the knot in a secret marriage, she lamented that it had become worn out.
She said what pained her the most was that she bought a very good ring for the occasion.
"This ring, which costs €15, has brought me troubles and subjected me to endless insults from social media users. I got all this, while I even sent a better ring for the occasion," Freda added.
She noted that amid all the unfair treatment and embarrassment she endured being Big Akwes' wife, she decided to endure.

What happened to Big Akwes and Freda
Last year, Big Akwes' ex-wife, Freda, said marrying the actor was her biggest regret.
Big Akwes and Freda tied the knot in a private ceremony in Kumasi in August 2023, before the couple called it quits some months later after experiencing some issues in their marriage.
In a video in August 2024, Freda spoke about her former marriage to the Kumawood actor and expressed some grievances.
After their marriage ended, the actor recorded videos of himself crying, making some fans believe that Freda mistreated him and made him wash dishes.
Freda countered him, saying it was all to court sympathy and dodge responsibility.
"When you were in Ghana, you were not crying as content, so stop behaving like a baby...ask him if he has washed dishes before. It is friendship that has ended you like this. You can always go back to Ghana. You and I know I just don't want to give out more information, but if you cry one more time, I'll spill everything to bloggers," Freda warned.
