The legendary highlife superstar, born Charles Kwadwo Fosu, tragically passed away on July 26, 2025, at the Bank Hospital in Accra.

Daddy Lumba fell sick at his home in East Legon and was transported to the private hospital at Cantonments in the heart of the capital.

Despite efforts to save his life, he succumbed to his illness, throwing the entire country into mourning.

Following his death, numerous prominent Ghanaians including celebrities, politicians, and business leaders, visited his home to express their condolences to his family.

Lumba’s daughter steals show at Kufuor’s house

The family of the late musician visited the home of former President John Agyekum Kufuor on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, to officially invite him to his one-week commemoration.

The customary Ghanaian event, which serves as a precursor to a deceased person’s final funeral rites, has been scheduled for Saturday, August 30, at the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon, Accra.

Daddy Lumba's daughter, Denise, accompanied a family delegation to the former President’s home that included her stepmother, Lumba’s second wife Priscilla Ofori Atta, popularly known as Odo Broni.

Other family heads and the late singer’s manager, Roman Fada, were also present.

Videos from the visit showed Denise Fosu looking beautiful and elegant, despite her grief.

She conversed heartily with Kufuor, who seemed to enjoy her company despite the sombre nature of their gathering.

Ghanaians praised Denise for her class and beauty, describing her as a younger version of her mother, Akosua Serwaa.

Daddy Lumba’s family visits former Vice-President

As part of their preparations for the late singer’s funeral, his family paid courtesy calls on the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, and former Vice-President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

The family officially invited both personalities to the one week commemoration, while the state pledged its full support in providing a state burial for the late musician.
