Lil Win laments media's 'disinterest' in film
In a heartfelt message, the Kumawood star stood next to his GH¢1.2 million 2024 RAM 1500 branded with stickers of his latest movie, Captain Ibrahim Traore: The Last African Hero.
He stated that his main concern was the lack of support from Ghanaian media houses for his latest movie.
He mentioned that he premiered his movie in the second region in the country, Sunyani, and none of them had discussed the project.
He mentioned that from August 22 to 24, 2025, he dedicated the entire time checking the channels of all the television stations in the country that focus on entertainment to find out whether they would discuss his movie, but unfortunately, none of them did.
Lil Win bragged about his movie securing several nominations abroad and felt disappointed that no media house was talking about the movie's achievement.
"The movie has been nominated as the Best Movie in Africa at the Switzerland Festival Awards, yet no television station in the country talked about it," he expressed his grievances in the video.
Reactions to Lil Win's plea about media support
Some people highlighted that the timing of the release of the money was not favourable since there had been national issues, such as the passing of the legendary highlife musician Daddy Lumba on July 26, 2025, and the military helicopter crash at Adansi Akrofuom on August 6, 2025.
