Embattled Ghanaian hiplife musician Jerry Anaabaa, popularly known as Okomfo Kwadee, has broken his silence amid his ongoing recovery from mental health issues at a rehabilitation facility in the Ashanti Region.

In a series of TikTok videos seen by YEN.com.gh, the rapper appeared to be in good health as he spoke about his participation in the Ghana Against Red campaign, an initiative set up to create awareness and caution citizens against the use of hard substances.
Okomfo Kwadee also shared details about the upcoming campaign, which includes a health walk from the Jubilee Park to other areas in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, on Friday, August 22, 2025.
The rapper also shared that he would mount the stage to deliver a special musical performance at an event that would be held in Kumasi as part of the Ghana against the Red campaign.
In another video, Okomfo Kwadee also spoke about his struggles and the treatment he had undergone in the Willingway Rehab Centre for his recovery.
The rapper's remarks come a few days after Kumawood actor Kwaku Manu visited him at the centre to check on the progress he has made since he was admitted to the facility several months ago.
During their encounter, the two stars were spotted recounting Okomfo Kwadee's good old days. The rapper also attempted to sing one of his popular hiplife jams, Ataa Adwoa, as they talked about his legacy.
Yaw Boadu-Ayeboafoh speaks on Okomfo Kwadee's recovery
Speaking to YEN.com.gh, entertainment analyst Yaw Boadu-Ayeboafoh shared his thoughts on Okomfo Kwadee's situation and how music executives and managers can support artists during their recovery from mental health challenges.
He said:
"Hard substance addiction is a real problem among creatives. We need to help hard substance-addicted creatives through it by getting them guidance and counselling and also not putting them in an environment that can lead to a relapse."

Kwadee reportedly stranded at his Rehab Centre
Amid his recovery from his mental health issues, reports emerged that Okomfo Kwadee had reportedly been abandoned at the Willingway Rehab Centre at Ejisu-Asawasi in the Ashanti Region.

Reports indicated that the rapper had been left at the facility due to unpaid medical bills amounting to GH₵7,000, which his mother had reportedly refused to pay to secure his return home after he recovered from his health issues.
