Police set up more barricades
On Thursday, August 21, 2025, fans of Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale gathered in large numbers outside the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) in Accra, demanding his release.
In response to the swelling crowd, the Ghana Police Service deployed additional personnel and offloaded a truckload of barricades to control the situation.
The fans were rallying in support of Shatta Wale, who had voluntarily reported to EOCO for questioning regarding his seized Lamborghini Urus.
The police's actions aimed to maintain order and ensure public safety amid the growing tensions.

Shatta Wale speaks after release from EOCO
YEN.com.gh reported that dancehall musician Shatta Wale broke his silence following his release from the custody of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
The artiste was detained on August 20, 2025, as part of ongoing investigations into his 2019 Lamborghini Urus. After hours of interrogation, he was granted bail initially set at GH₵10 million with two sureties, but the figure was later reduced to GH₵5 million.
In his first statement after regaining his freedom, Shatta Wale acknowledged the experience had been a wake-up call. “I’ve learnt my lesson,” he said, addressing EOCO boss Raymond Archer and assuring fans of his commitment to moving forward.
