An elderly Ghanaian taxi driver does not have a steering wheel in his car, but is still able to drive his car without it.
The driver who was videoed near the Ecobank Darkuman branch has devised a way to move the car using equipment.

In a video on X, the elderly man demonstrated how he uses a cross-rim spanner to move the taxi from one point to another.
There was no steering wheel at the place where one had to be fixed. Instead, the taxi driver had put one of the sockets in the place for the steering wheel.
He used the cross-rim spanner to steer the taxi in the direction he wanted it to go. In the video, it was not stated how long the man had been doing this.
However, several people raised security concerns about the safety of such a practice and whether the police and other authorities had seen him drive in that manner.

“You see, he will go and cause an accident and kill people. This is one of the main problems in Ghana: illiteracy at this level and a lack of knowledge and awareness of danger on the road. People like him/ cars like this shouldn’t be on the road. My people perished 😭.”
