Arsenal run riot against Leeds
The atmosphere at the ground was electric, and Arsenal wasted no time stamping their authority.
Dutch defender Jurrien Timber broke the deadlock with a well-timed header that set the tone for the night, according to The Analyst.
Moments later, Bukayo Saka doubled the advantage with a fierce strike from his weaker foot, sending Mikel Arteta’s men into the break cruising with a two-goal cushion.
The second half brought more joy for the home fans. New recruit Viktor Gyokeres finally found his scoring touch since his move from Sporting Lisbon, slotting home his debut goal, per Sky Sports.
Timber then bagged his second to put the game beyond reach before Gyokeres added a stoppage-time penalty, sealing an emphatic 5-0 triumph.
The dominant win, coming right after a gritty victory away at Manchester United, pushed Arsenal to the top of the table.
