He went further with a smile, adding, "Mi pɛ Mbappe atwa no kɛkɛ," which loosely translates to "I only want to tackle Mbappe."

He ended the night with 35 completed passes at a 90 percent accuracy rate, one ground duel won, two interceptions, and a tackle with a Sofascore rating of 6.1.

The Wa-born star who honed his talent in Krofrom, a suburb in Kumasi, even came agonisingly close to writing his name in Oviedo’s history.

In the 80th minute, his strike inside the penalty area clipped the post, narrowly missing what could have been the club’s first goal of the season.

That chance slipped away, and Madrid punished them soon after.

According to Al Jazeera, Mbappe doubled his tally following a Vinicius Junior assist before the Brazilian forward added a third to seal a 3–0 win.

Despite the defeat, Oviedo and Sibo have little time to dwell on what might have been.

Their next task is against Real Sociedad at the Estadio Carlos Tartiere, where he will aim to bring the same grit and energy to inspire a response.
